The PCSWA logo reflects three key concepts:

  • the balance between our social work role and values within the context of palliative care service delivery,
  • the interwoven layers of complexity and systems that social workers operate across (individual, family, organisational, community and society levels)
  • the interconnecting network of social workers working towards shared ideals and aspirations in palliative, end of life and bereavement care around Australia.

Choice in Colours

The colours used in the PCSWA logo were selected to embody the following:

  • Purple signifies the wisdom, dignity, sensitivity, and innovation within palliative care practice.
  • Blue is representative of the depth of social work practice, inspiring trust and a striving for excellence.
  • Grey is a grounding and solid base connecting these two areas of practice together, promoting balance and professionalism.

The logo integrates all of the above and aligns the mission of PCSWA for Advocacy (promoting the social work role and driving policy and system change), Collaboration (enhancing partnerships within the profession and with others) and a striving for practice Excellence (supporting leadership, research and professional development).
